| Biografical sketch |
Today, flamenco has captivated and aroused great interest in composers and choreographers from around the world. The universal aspects of flamenco, with its authenticity and purity, as well as unique culture and history, all combine to make it one of the richest artistic traditions gaining presence in the world of dance.
In March, 2004, Lucero Martinez founded the first flamenco dance school in Mazatlan, Miura Expresión Flamenca, which represented the only school dedicated specifically to the art of flamenco in the State of Sinaloa, Mexico.
Miura, is the only company in Mexico that looks to create productions with a contemporary vision in music and dance, offering innovative performances, faithful to the pure and jondo passion of flamenco. Miura's focus is not only in the art of the individual talent but in creating a story that needs to be expressed through dance and music from beginning to end.
The company is composed of Mexican artists that together, combine the traditional with the modern and vanguard of the new flamenco
techniques, awaking the interest of the audience in general and not only in the flamenco experts.
Miura looks to consolidate itself as an international flamenco dance company that positions Mexico worldwide, through quality productions that combine dance, theater and music involving a technical and creative work reflected in elements like wardrobe, stage design, and lighting. They look to go beyond reaching a harmonic balance between human, artistic and musical quality, of the people that form the company.
